Santa Clarita Veterans Job Fair: September 29, 2026

The Santa Clarita Veteran Services Collaborative is hosting a Veterans Job Fair on September 29, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at College of the Canyons, Valencia Campus, East Gym. It is open to veterans, active-duty service members, and their families, with more than40 employers recruiting for a variety of roles. As a U.S. Army veteran, I want every veteran in need of work to know this opportunity is here for them.

Event Details at a Glance

  • When: September 29, 2026, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Where: College of the Canyons, Valencia Campus, East Gym.
  • Who: Veterans, active-duty service members, and their families.
  • Why: More than40 employers recruiting in one place.

Hosted by the SCV Veteran Services Collaborative, the event brings together employers who want to hire veterans and employers who understand what service means. That is a powerful combination, and it happens right here in Santa Clarita.

Why This Job Fair Matters

Employment is the bridge between service and stability. A steady job gives a veteran the foundation to support a family, build credit, save for a home, and plan for the future. When veterans cannot find work, everything else gets harder: housing, health, family. Events like this are not just about filling positions. They are about honoring service with opportunity, and about giving heroes the simple dignity of a good day's work.

I saw this firsthand during my own transition from the U.S. Army to civilian life. Finding your footing after service takes time, patience, and people who will point you toward the right door. A job fair that gathers 40-plus employers under one roof is exactly that kind of door. Walk in with your resume, walk out with leads, and sometimes, with a handshake that changes everything.

Employment and Homeownership Go Hand in Hand

As a REALTOR who works with veterans every week, I can tell you that a steady paycheck is the first line on a mortgage application. Lenders want to see consistent income, and a new job and a clean housing history can be the difference between renting forever and owning. For veterans looking to buy a home with a VA loan, employment stability is especially important, because VA lenders underwrite with care around income and debt-to-income ratios.

If you land a new job at this fair, your next conversation might be about where to live. That is where I come in. Through Sam's Heroes, I help veterans, first responders, and other community heroes keep more money in their pockets when they buy or sell a home. From VA loan guidance to relocation planning,my goal is to make your home search as clear as your next step on the job.

How to Prepare

  • Bring several copies of your resume and a list of references.
  • Dress for the roles you want. First impressions still matter.
  • Bring your DD-214 or other service documents if asked, and a photo ID.
  • Prepare a short pitch: who you are, what you did in service, and what kind of role you are looking for.
  • If you are a military spouse also looking for work, come too. This fair is for families, not just veterans.

Service Before Self

The reason I share these local events every week is simple: service does not end when you take off the uniform. Service means showing up for your neighbors, your fellow veterans, and your community. Sharing an opportunity like this is a small way I can serve, and I hope you will pass the word to a veteran who needs it.

If you are a veteran who has recently moved to Santa Clarita or Southern California and need help translating a new income into homeownership, my door is open. Call me at 661-621-5340 or book a time on my calendar. It would be an honor to help you find both a job and a home in the community you served.
